Tip & Split Calculator
✓ Link copiedA fast, no-fuss calculator for tipping and splitting the check. Enter the bill amount, choose a tip percentage (or tap a preset like 15%, 18%, or 20%), and say how many people are sharing — the tip, the grand total, and each person's share update instantly as you type. An optional rounding mode rounds the per-person amount or the whole total up to the nearest whole unit, so everyone pays a clean figure and the math is easy to settle in cash. It handles any tip rate (including over 100%), any party size, and a zero tip, and shows a clear breakdown of the tip amount, total, and tip per person. Free, private, and runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is ever uploaded.

How to use
Type the bill amount, set a tip percentage (or tap one of the quick-tip buttons), and enter the number of people splitting the check. The result card immediately shows what each person pays, along with the total tip, the grand total, and the tip per person. Pick a rounding mode — none, round up per person, or round up the total — to land on tidy whole amounts, and use Copy to grab the per-person figure.
Frequently asked questions
- How is the tip calculated?
- The tip is the bill amount multiplied by the tip percentage: tip = bill × tip% ÷ 100. The grand total is the bill plus the tip, and the per-person amount is the total divided by the number of people. For example, a 100 bill at 18% is an 18 tip, a 118 total, and 59 each between two people.
- What does the rounding option do?
- Rounding makes the split land on whole-unit amounts so it's easy to pay. 'Round up per person' rounds each person's share up to the next whole unit and adds them up for the total; 'round up total' rounds the whole bill-plus-tip up first and then divides it evenly. Because rounding only ever rounds up, the effective tip ends up a little higher, which the tool notes below the result.
- Is my data sent anywhere?
- No. All the calculation happens entirely in your browser on your own device. Nothing you type — the bill, the tip, or the number of people — is ever uploaded to a server.
